Harbor Seal
There are many species of animals but one of the most popularr is the Harbor Seal. The harbor seals eat fish and other sea creatures, They breath air so they do not live in the water they live in rocky areas and big ice bergs. The harbor seal is a marine mammal and it has hair. The seal is warm blooded, in order to swim in such cold water the harbor seal has layers of blubber. And the hairs on the seal also keep the harbor seal warm because it locks the water in the hair so it doesnt get into the skin. Harbor Seals population is increasing in many areas except near Glacier Bay and other parts of Alaska it is actually decreasing. There are many accidental captures in fishing nets and people hurting them while hauling them out to land. Glacier Bay is only letting minnimum hunting to moniter the amount of Harbor Seals.The Harbor Seal is known as the Phoca Vitulina, you can tell its age by counting the rings on its teeth, it can also hold its breath for up to fifteen minutes.
